Dr Nisar Cherukattil has pursued MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and further pursued MD in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes from University of Leicester. He has more than two decades of experience in reputed hospitals and clinics in India and Qatar.

Dr Nisar is a member of AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist), ADA (American Diabetes Association)and a life member of IMA (Indian Medical Association). He has also participated in Qatar National Clinical Guidelines Development Committee meetings. Prior to joining Aster Medical Centre in 2004, he was working as Consultant Physician with Al Shifa Hospital, Perinthalmanna and Neo Medical Centre, Pandikkad, India.
